The women’s pool play is over and now the knockout fun can begin! And the draw for the round of 24 has thrown together two of the world’s top teams together in a huge clash early in this World Championships.
The world’s second best team, Mariafe Artatcho del Solar and Taliqua Clancy of Australia will take on the world number fours, Canada’s Brandie Wilkerson and Heather Bansley in what is the pick of the 16 matches in the round of 32.
Another mouthwatering match will be Brazilians Agatha Bednarczuk and Duda Lisboa of Brazil against three-time champion Kerri Walsh Jennings and Brooke Sweat.
The current reigning champion, Laura Ludwig, and teammate Maggie Kozuch’s reward for topping Pool J is a game against the United States pair of Summer Hughes and Sarah Ross.
There is one all-German tie in the last 32 that will guarantee a home team in the last 16, as Karla Borger and Julia Sude take on Kim Behrens and Cinja Tillmann.
